Making the beautiful even more so.

“Vanessa and Adam did an amazing job on my website. They exceeded my expectations. The IT & design pair make a fantastic duo who deliver really professional advice, knowledge and work. Design Collective made the process of a new website really fun and stress free and furthermore after working with them, I am now in love with my website!!” – Phoenix Renata.

We were delighted to be approached by Phoenix Renata to redevelop her on-line presence which includes e-commerce, direct mailing and a blog for the Pink Ladies, her team of make up artists. This gave us an opportunity to produce a site with a highly distinctive design to match our client.

We worked closely with Phoenix to ensure that she got a solution to meet all her current needs: show the products, make them available for on-line purchase and allow her to easily communicate with her loyal and ever-growing client base via email. Using an easy to use content management system, Phoenix is in control of her system. Of course we are on hand to help if ever needed.

Phoenix Cosmetics is one of only a handful of New Zealand owned cosmetics companies, Phoenix is the brainchild of make-up artist Phoenix Renata.

A model of successful email marketing post 'spam-laws'.

Phoenix Renata values communicating to her customers, keeping a customer loyal is more effective than trying to find new ones. Phoenix understands this and once you’re with Phoenix, you’re a Phoenix VIP. Many companies fail to look after their client base properly, Phoenix understands how to communicate to her audience and has great success through email marketing.

Phoenix makes full use of the various features of DCMAIL, the Design Collective Email Marketing system, including the ability to synchronize customer feedback forms and contact forms with the marketing database. When someone uses a form to initate contact, if they provide permission, the details are automatically included in the email database as well as being sent directly to Phoenix. Segregation of the email database allows Phoenix to contact customers who signed up and one store in particular, or who have birthdays in a particular month.

Getting crafty with e-commerce

Craft work is experiencing a huge revival, and what better place to go than The Little Craft Store. Based in Point Chevalier, The Little Craft Store sells lots of beautiful things you can use to get crafting. From fresh and contemporary fabrics to patterns, yarns, knitting supplies and an assortment of craft kits. It’s the kind of store that inspires you to start doing a new crafty project. Helen Trigg is very much design lead, everything from the interior of the store to her online presence is a careful brand exercise.

Design Collective designed the brand for the online presence, an extension of the styling of the shop. Using Shopify as the e-commerce system, we built a template and constructed the store.

Whether it’s a kids crafting birthday party you need or the inspiration and supplies for a new project, be sure to pop in and have a look around Helen’s lovely little store.

Crispin Bassett wanted a brand overhaul to more closely describe his business of having technology enhance peoples lives, rather than having them fight it.

We created a subtle, contemporary brand that achieved this by combining simple natural themes progressively showing the gradual combination of water (representing life) and the hard edges of technology.

A high value identity for a high value property developer.

Derek Slade (previously of Chesil Park) approached us as a start-up company, needing a full identity, we worked with him to produce a high value, austere brand.

The brand was very successful making Chesil Park a recognised business in the Hawkes Bay region and we produced many documents, web sites, micro-sites and adverts for them for a number of years.

Unfortunately Chesil Park became a casualty of the decline in the property market.
